I Didn’t Fall Into That Trap
February 28, 2010 10:53 am Home and FamilyIf there is one part of a wedding that has more potential to cause embarrassment than any other, it is the mother of the groom speech. Many mothers are not prepared to give it, and end up either blubbering out something unintelligible or telling some humiliating stories about the groom. Even those that are prepared don’t always know what is and is not acceptable in such a speech, and they end up embarrassing either themselves or their son. Luckily, I didn’t find myself falling into that trap when I gave the speech at my son’s wedding. I found a website that taught me all of the proper etiquette, and I gave a speech he could be proud of.
